David Tanner

David Dennis Tanner, born February 22, 1955, in Denver, CO went to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 18, 2024. David passed peacefully with his family by his side. David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Monroe Tanner and Sue Higley Tanner. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Robin Goodin Tanner, and his three children: Zach (Corrine) of Los Osos, CA, Josh (Julia) of Arvada, CO, and Sara (Andy Lipetz) of Chapel Hill, NC. His pride and joy were his five (soon to be six!) grandchildren, Violet Lipetz, Ben Lipetz, Maya Tanner, Simone Tanner and Kaiya Tanner. He is also survived by his beloved siblings: his brother Brian Tanner (Deborah) of Westminster, CO,sister Janne (Roger Young) of Arvada, CO, and sister Teri (Gary Priddy) of Katy, TX, along with many loving nieces and nephews. Dave was raised in Colorado and met the love of his life, Robin Goodin, while at the University of Northern Colorado where they both attended. Described as love at first sight, they knew right away that they had found their person to experience life with. Shortly after marrying on April 7, 1979, they welcomed their first son, Zach. Two years later Dave and Robin moved to San Diego and welcomed their son, Josh, followed shortly after by their daughter, Sara. Dave and Robin and their family lived many happy years in the Rancho Penasquitos suburb of San Diego where Dave dedicated himself to his family- never missing a school activity, sporting event or major milestone in his children’s lives. After many years in the copier and print industry, Dave began a successful entrepreneurial career when he began Client Advantage Group, his financial consulting business. During his many years in the copier industry, Dave showed an incredible work ethic centered on honesty and integrity. He prioritized building lasting relationships with his clients and colleagues. Dave had a lifelong love of spending time in nature. Many happy hours were spent camping with his family, siblings and friends, as well as being active through running, riding bikes and golfing. Dave has been a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church for 39 years. He leaves his family with a legacy of love visible through his many acts of compassion and service to the community and those less fortunate. In anticipation of the arrival of Dave’s sixth grandchild, the family has decided to wait until everyone is able to come together to celebrate the life of this extraordinary man. Please save the date for the funeral mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Rancho Penasquitos on Friday October 11, 2024 at 10:30am with a celebration of life following.
