In Loving Memory of Marilyn Ruth Fraser September 18, 1935 – June 27, 2025 Marilyn Ruth Fraser (née Farrand), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on September 18, 1935, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Marilyn was a woman of resilience, strength, and boundless love. She built a remarkable life through determination and kindness, touching the hearts of everyone she met. Marilyn’s career was as diverse as it was impressive. For much of her professional life, she thrived as a manager, later training as a claims adjuster and beginning a new career in 2003. She also pursued her entrepreneurial spirit, owning and operating her own catering business for several years—a natural fit given her love for cooking and her talent as a self-taught chef. Her passions extended far beyond her work. Marilyn was deeply interested in genealogy and took pride in her involvement with the Campbell clan in North America. She was an avid reader, particularly of history, often finishing two to four books each week. Her green thumb brought life to her garden, and her love for animals was evident in the many pets she cared for over the years. Marilyn’s most outstanding achievement, however, was the beautiful life she created for her family. As a single mother in the 1960s and 1970s, she overcame numerous challenges, raising her children with unconditional love and transforming every hardship into triumph. Her unwavering support and devotion made her children incredibly proud. Her five children survive Marilyn: Belinda, Mark (Loren), Patrick, Heather (Troy), and Guy (Steve); her cherished grandchildren: Spencer (Casey), Derek (Jacque), Emily (Bo), and Allison (Blake); and her adored great-grandchildren: Miles, Harper, Cooper, Jesse, and Hayes. Marilyn will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and in the memories of all those who were fortunate enough to know her. A private service will be held to honor her life, will be held July 25th at 11am.
