Russell Le Sieur

Russell Lesieur was born on May 23rd, 1930, in Marlborough, MA. As the last surviving sibling of 13 children, he held a special place in his large family. Russell served in the US Army from 1948 to 1952. Time served in Japan. Russell moved to California where he met Jodine and baby Mike. Russell and Jodine were married, and Russell adopted Mike. Russell worked as handyman while he took college courses. He was very motivated to learn, he researched books to learn how to do anything that needed to be done. He was very good with electronics and worked as a TV repairman. He was also the owner of a laundromat and did all his own repairs on the machines. He did home remodel projects for his neighbors and friends and could rebuild an automotive engine. He was a craftsman at woodwork and pottery. There was nothing he couldn’t do and do well. Russell’s son Mike was fortunate to spend so much time with his father, working together on projects, camping, sports, and raising pigeons. Russell was an amazing father. Russell’s career path took him to work at the VA hospital in Long beach as an Occupational Therapist. Here he worked until he retired. Russell met BJ in 1974. BJ was Russell’s only Angel, he loved spending time with her. They participated in many activities, including square dancing, traveling, camping, and playing bridge. They loved to entertain in their home and create elaborate meals with a well-made table. They loved planning and preparing delicious food to share with friends. Russell also loved to stay on top of the entertainment opportunities around Southern California. He enjoyed Drum Corp marching bands contests, church musicals, and entertaining dining establishments. He always had suggestions about where to go for the best food and entertainment in town. Russell was a dedicated Catholic. He spent many hours in prayer, studying and worshiping the Lord. He spent hours at the churches he belonged to in fellowship. He traveled to monasteries to spend quiet time in prayer and reflection. He was a strong believer. Russell loved to write letters, he kept up correspondence with many friends and family throughout the years. He was a very generous and loving family man who will be dearly missed. Russell was preceded in death by his loving wife BJ, and his grandson Mikey Lesieur. He leaves behind his son Mike (Lori), grandsons, Russell and William. Stepchildren, Perry (Becky), Maggi (Mike) and Mark and grandsons, Michael and Mathew. And a multitude of friends
