In Loving Memory of Donny With heavy hearts, we share the news that our beloved Donny, Donald Robert Shumway Jr., has left us too soon. Born on November 22, 1971, Donny brought so much joy, love, and warmth to everyone around him. He never met a stranger. Donny loved his Seattle sports teams – the Seahawks, Thunderbirds, Mariners, and Kraken. His passion for sports was only rivaled by his love for NASCAR, especially cheering on Kasey Kahne. He was an outdoorsman at heart, finding peace and excitement in halibut and salmon fishing. The open water was his happy place. A proud graduate of Auburn Adventist Academy, where Donny met lifelong friends, a testament to his fun filled nature. He went on to continue in his parent's footsteps, owning Shareway Industries with his trusted partner Justin Shumway, he led a fulfilling career where he contributed to groundbreaking projects related to heavyinfrastructure, commercial space commerce, NASCAR and other racing, and many others. His charisma and management style left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with him. Music was another big part of Donny's life. He loved playing the harmonica and singing, filling his home with tunes that will always be in our hearts. He had a jam band with his friends, more of an excuse for “time with the guys”, but it brought him so much joy. Above all, Donny was a loving son and friend. His kindness, generosity, and infectious enthusiasm for life touched everyone he met. He had a unique gift for making people feel cherished and valued. His legacy of love, laughter, and passion will live on in all our memories. We find comfort in knowing Donny is at peace now, surrounded by the eternal love of God. He leaves behind his parents, Bob and Joan Shumway, and countless family members and friends who will always hold him in their hearts. We'll be celebrating Donny's life on June 1st at 3 p.m. at Enumclaw SDA Church.
